From tomorrow Thursday 4th February AEMET have issued a yellow warning for all Islands except for Lanzarote, due to a weather front moving in from the northwest.
INVOLCAN Register a Swarm of Seismic Activity Under Cumbre Vieja Volcano - La Palma.
On Monday 31st January 2021 the Canary Islands Seismic Network, monitoring all seismic movements in the archipelago for INVOLCAN had recorded 138 small seismic events with magnitude 1.8 or below under the Cumbre Vieja Volcano.

49 Samples of the 'British Variant' of Covid19 Have Been Detected Within the Canary Islands.
100 nasopharyngeal swabs were collected from Covid19 patients between December 18th and January 18th, where the patient was suspected to be a carrier of any variant of the coronavirus.

The Canary Government has agreed and comfirmed that Tenerife will go down to the amber level in the traffic light system, whilst Gran Canaria will climb a level to the red traffic light.

On the 23rd of January, the City of Granada in the Peninsula experienced 2 earthquakes on the same day. The first at around midday was first recorded to have struck the region at 12:15pm with a recorded magnitude of 4.4, this left some buildings damaged and unfortunately, one person injured.
