It appears that despite the extra restrictions imposed upon the islands for Carnival that owners of bars and restaurants and people, in general, are ignoring the new rules.

Dilapidated Half Built Apartment Block to be Replaced by Luxury Apartments.

It's reported that in a few days that the unfinished building which has sat at the entrance to Los Gigantes for more than 30 years will finally be demolished and be replaced with luxury apartments.

The Government of Tenerife Imposes One-way Roads System to Access Teide National Park.

To prevent crowding from the expected influx of people accessing the national park this weekend there is a temporary one-way system in place on the access roads.

The Rastro of Santa Cruz will Open Once More After More Than One Year.

The famous Sunday open-air market "El Rastro de Santa Cruz" is to once again open, albeit in a different location and with safety measures for coronavirus. There is no specific date as of yet but it is hoped to open before the end of the month.

The government has published in the BOC all the restrictions which are to remain in place over the carnival period.

In a Twist, Tenerife is to Have its Alert Level Lowered, but with Carnival Restrictions First.

It was declared yesterday by the Canarian Government that Tenerife would be the only island to change its alert level, with all other islands remaining the same.

Just Like That, Hopes Taken Away from Restriction Levels Being Reduced.

Scientific advisors to the Canarian Government insist restrictions should remain in place for a few more days to prevent further infections during the carnival period.

Six Car Collision on the TF-1 Motorway.

Early in the morning today, Wednesday 10th February, a collision between six vehicles on the TF-1 took place around the Güímar Polígono, leading to retention in the south.

UK Travel Ban Extended Until March 2nd.

Up to March 2nd British nationals cannot enter Spain via aeroplane or ship unless you are an official resident of the country and prove with a PCR test that you have a negative test result for Coronavirus.

Hopes Raised for Tenerife's Restriction Level to be Lowered.

The governing council are to meet on Thursday 11th with hopes of reducing the restriction level for Tenerife down to level 1. President Angél Torres has said that the situation "is improving with respect to the pandemic".

Restrictions in Tenerife and all Canary Islands to Remain the same for another week.

The alert traffic light system has once again been updated and there have been no changes to any of the islands alert levels. Therefore Tenerife remains at alert level two or amber in the traffic light system.

UPDATE: *ALL* Teide Access Roads Closed due to Weather Conditions

The Cabildo de Tenerife has closed the access roads to Teide from all parts of the island due to another round of snowfall this year. The roads being TF21, TF24 and TF38 (in black).
