Lanzarote Moves to Alert Level Two and Reinforced Rules for Level Two Introduced.

The ministry of health has agreed on Thursday that the epidemiological situation has improved enough in Lanzarote that they can move to Level Two.

After several months of being at the highest alert levels, the Islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa will be able to enjoy the benefits of being at Alert Level two. The ministry has also decided that the remainder of the islands remain on the same alert level.

However, the ministry has also highlighted that Tenerife and Gran Canaria are showing worrying signs and negative trends in the progression of the virus, adding that it's not enough to warrant full level three restrictions but reinforced level two restrictions.

Therefore from Monday at 00:00 hours, new restrictions will be introduced specifically for those islands. Which will affect the curfew and group sizes.

Therefore the alert levels are like this:

Level 1: La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro.

Level 2: Lanzarote, Fuerteventura.

Level 2 (Reinforced): Tenerife, Gran Canaria.

More to follow on the reinforced restrictions.
