Armas adapts four ships with pet cabins on routes between the Canary Islands and Andalusia.

Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea (Armas) opens 97 cabins this Thursday in which you can travel with your canine or feline friends, with two beds, floor soakers, drinking trough, feeder, and waste collection bags. These four adapted ships cover two inter-island routes and another two which connect the islands to Andalusia.

To access the boat your pet must be in a carrier - weight and size permitting you to do so, or with a muzzle and leash held by their owners. Only cats and dogs are permitted to use the cabins with their owners, which in a statement Armas said is for their wellbeing and all other animals must travel in compartments that are suitable for it.

Of the two inter-island ships, The Volcán de Timanfaya and Volcán de Tamadaba ferries both have 5 exterior cabins each suitable for pets.

The Ciudad Autónoma Melilla ferry has the same number of cabins, which covers the Melilla-Malaga line and seven cabins the Valencia City ferry, which serves the Cádiz-Canarias line , with stops in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santa Cruz de La Palma, Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) and Arrecife (Lanzarote).

On the Volcán de Tinamar ferry, there will be 17 of these new types of cabins (10 exterior and 7 interior), which will also have LED cruise lights. Since last July 31, this ship, which covers the Canarias-Huelva line with stops in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Arrecife (Lanzarote), has operated again under the direct control of Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea.

Those passengers who have already purchased their usual pet ticket and want to use this new service, only have to cancel the first service and add the new one in extra service. The customer may also choose the accommodation on board, provided there is availability at the time of purchase of the ticket.
