Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura to Move to Level 3 Restrictions.

The Ministry of Health confirms that the three islands will move to level 3 due to continual increases in the spread of the virus.

From Monday (midnight on Sunday) Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura will all enter level 3, after the unsuccessful reinforced level 2 restrictions failed to control the spread of the virus.

Level 3 is vaguely similar to the reinforced level 2 restrictions where the curfew will still remain from 10pm through to 6am, however as it's level 3 the restrictions go farther.

Group sizes will still be limited to 4 people unless cohabitants, but no longer will bars and restaurants be able to use indoor spaces to serve customers and sitting at the bar is prohibited. Capacities outside these establishments will remain at 50% but home delivery services will be allowed until midnight.

Gyms are allowed to remain open with a capacity of 33% and groups of 4 including an instructor/monitor. 2 meter distance is required and additionally the use of masks.

The perimeters of the three islands will be closed, therefore you cannot leave the island you reside in unless for just cause as stated in the BOC (work, care for a dependent family member, returning to a family home or reservation in a hotel accommodation, among others).

However, from March 26th all islands, regardless of their restriction level will have to comply with tougher measures for two weeks over the Easter period. These restrictions will last until midnight on April 9th. Therefore bars and restaurants will not be able to use their internal spaces until after this date.
