Up until yesterday, La Gomera had not reported any deaths due to coronavirus, even though it was one of the first islands to report cases in the pandemic.
This death was reported yesterday where the health ministry also notified of four other deaths due to covid19 across the archipelago.
Of the five deaths, two women (associated with the outbreak at the San José Clinic), one male in each island of Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Gomera. This, therefore, leads to the total number of deaths being at 608.
These numbers were also joined to the announcement of another 170 cases, bringing the total accumulated cases to 41,754.
